Looking to build seating around my deck and a built in for a hibachi grill. Need some lumber. I live Mt. Pleasant. Where do you go to get the most bang for your buck? I've always gone to Lowes but their wood is crooked as hell.

Guy C Lee. Buy KDAT for treated, costs more on the front end.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
You might take out a dozen before they drag you from your home and skull fuck you to death. Marsh Chicken 6/21/2013

Southern Lumber.
I work at Southern Lumber, What you looking for?
Fishinmission, I'll PM you. Appreciate all the input guys!
I like Guy C. Lee but their hours make it hard or a weekend warrior.
Every time I have tried to shop at a "real lumber" yard as a weekend warrior, I get treated with contempt. At least that has been my experience in Florence. Lowes and Home Depot all have sh!t lumber that must be picked through and even then it is questionable, but I will be damned if I am going to be looked down upon while trying to purchase something. At least at the big box they just ignore you. MG

I haven't been treated poorly by Guy C. Lee.
I can understand why they'd prefer not to deal with little piss-ant quantities for picky customers but even the yard guys have always been happy to move stuff around or load my hand picked lumber. Heck, I even get annoyed at some of the people I run into in the yard. They block the passageways like they are alone in the world, take forever to pick out three boards and leave the rest of the stack looking like a beaver arranged it.
I second Salty with the KDAT. I used it on our arbor on the back of the house 5 years ago and it's still straight. It's pine, but Kiln Dried After Treatment.
I don't need my name in the marquee lights....

Any where you go- better get #1 KDAT and hand pick every piece if you want it to look good. I do many projects that are spec'd no wane, knots or splits allowed= even getting select grade #1 KDAT- 25% is rejected
I got with Fishinmission at Southern Lumber and the wood should be in my driveway this afternoon! So far it's been a very easy process and William Albrecht has been very responsive and helpful. I'll let y'all know how everything turns out! Appreciate all the feedback.
Don't hesitate to return bad wood- the yard guys don't hand select- they load from the top of the pile.
I don't know Fishinmission but William Albrecht was easy to work with on my special lumber for the Sol Legare landing fishing dock roof- even with the owner telling the head yard guy to hand select my wood and only send perfect lumber- we still had to return some.
I got a quote from Grayco in Beaufort to build JFields dock on St. Helena Island, when I called for the first delivery- they dropped the entire package, all framing, decking, handrail material and roof framing- guess who got 35% back- and their best was still pretty bad.
Let’s see pics when done
