Squash bugs will be under the leaves and down in the shade during the day. We've never had trouble with them eating the leaves though.
Look for vine borers at the base of the plant as well. Will look like a gummy looking "cut" in the vine, just above the ground. The insect is a grub-like creature inside the stem. If you have one, it is possible to save the plant, but its an uphill battle to kill it or remove it without killing the plant.

We've had a few of ours start to die this week. I assume its from them getting drowned because the plants on the hill are still good.
Looks like squash bugs to me. Are there little patches of eggs on underside of leaves?

Looks like fluoride deficiency to me.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-
For backyard gardens, consider building a pitcher plant bog garden in close proximity to your vegetable beds.
I have zero pests in my vegetable garden........but the pitchers are stacked with em.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
