Historically October 13th-20th has been a great time to kill a good one, that being said the weather sucks until Friday it appears.

Missed an opportunity at a wall hanger Saturday evening- couldn't get settled in for the shot before he stepped out of the shooting lane.

Here's some data for you. All were 5 1/2 plus.
9/17 only one pressure was below 30.00, minutes after 3" downpour stopped.

    Are they all still cruising?
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-

Unfortunately yes. I had a shot at the biggest of the three at dark probably 275 yards. I didn’t try it with everything wet and having to get up at 3:30 this morning.

I sat Saturday from 5:30-11:45 and saw a doe at 7:15. Got back in at 1:45 and sat till dark. Saw a buck chasing a doe at 6:45 but he was only in the lane for maybe 5 seconds. Had 3 walk out to the corn at 7:15 and couldn't tell what they were.

Back at it. This time with thermacell in hand. My uncle came down to sit with my 8yo. Just heard them shoot. My 10yo is beside himself thinking about.

No dice for my 8yo. Wasn’t him that shot and me and my 10yo got winded at 6pm. Didn’t make a bit of sense. Little breeze from left to right and this deer was coming down the hill 60 yards in front of us. Weird hot muggy night. Going to take a break from the swamp in the morning and hunt somewhere different.

I know of a nice 9pt killed Saturday evening right before dark.

Hope this model holds true this weekend.

    Nil, nix, nada, zilch...

Ain’t moving around here. My 10yo finally saw some this evening but I scared them to him at dark-thirty. We’ve hunted morning, noon and night. I’m probably more frustrated than the boys but we still have a few days.
