Default Whole home wireless (mesh) routers

So we stream our TV programming with YouTubeTV, Netflix, and Amazon Prime on a FireStick with Charter Spectrum Internet using an old Linksys wireless router.

The modem and router are undoubtedly in a bad spot in the garage, under the steps that go to our bonus room. I know it could be moved to a better place and we would likely see good results, but then it would be too far from my shop, where I stream Pandora while I'm working out there.

I've heard good things about these whole home/property mesh systems like Orbi and Google Nest.

Is that the way to go? And if so, is there better hardware I should know about. I am ok with that $300 or so price point.

    Talk to me.....

I honestly think your issues can be solved with an updated/new wifi router. I'll send you a link to what we have at home.

No shit. You’re making your entire household suffer so you can listen to Pandora by yourself.

Sounds selfish to me. Kids trying to run a business out of the house and all we are worried about is listening to Rascal Flats while polishing wood...

I wish I could buy you all for what you're worth. I really do.

The Pandora works just fine.....it's all the other bitchin' that's sending me over the edge.....and that damned spinning circle...

And I likely sourced a free Netgear badass router while out at lunch just now - just because of my personality. You all should look into being nicer to folks....it pays...

With all the pointing out of broke stuff he did this weekend you'd think his own porch would be swept.

But noooo and here we are.

Amazon eero mesh WiFi system – router for whole-home coverage 3 pack for $249. Much better coverage than a single router

Have had this system about 3 months now, have been really pleased. Very easy to setup and haven't had to fool w/ any of the extenders since placing them across the house.

I've had great luck with the eero mesh system. Much, much better than a single wifi router (used various Nighthawks, etc. and some extenders prior to eero).

If you have comporium try their premium WiFi. For us it covers three structures on almost 3 acres and my total cost was that my monthly comporium bill went up by about $20. The structures are up to 100 yards apart

Google mesh and be done with it. Get the 3 pack. One at the router, one at the other end of the house and one in your shop.
