    Default 1990 Honda Civic

This was/is my little commuter car.. The past two mornings I have gone out to crank it and it wont crank. Turns over and all but nothing. In the afternoons when I get home it cranks right up. Sounds like its not firing? What would cause a car to not crank in the mornings but in the afternoons? Is moisture getting to it at night? I live a lot closer to work now so its not as big of a deal if I don't use it. I have tossed around the idea of selling it so I would like to get this straightened out.

I’d venture to guess that the morning/afternoon timing thing is just coincidence

I’d start with an electrical tuneup, plugs, wires rotor cap and button

Just had a similar situation with my old truck. Turned out to be crank position sensor.

Can a computer for a car that old be that expensive?

I think that's where I'm going to start. Everything I've read points to that.

Check the main relay. Older Honda’s are famous for the solder joints cracking on the relay. It’s hot enough in the afternoons to expand the crack so it makes contact. Main relay is 2 separate relays that power fuel pump and injectors. It will look something like this

Run the wires nice and tight, don’t let them cross over each other or touch anymore than what’s absolutely necessary
