The 6 speeds are the gas engine. The link you posted is a duramax.

Ironically I have several text from people that I could screen shot and post about DEF usage.

Seems like an awful lot of regens to be burning that much def especially without pulling.

And for the keyboard warriors. Regens are not good on an engine.

Vehicle starts dumping fuel to get the DPF hot, like over 1000 degrees then the DEF is injected. During a regen you’re suppose to drive over 30mph for 20 mins for a full completion.

This isn’t just for the L5P, this is diesel emissions 101

When looking at new ones on dealer sites make sure it says diesel. Gm made the new gas motor 6.6l also so and some dealer pages just show the 6.6 until you get into the specifications.

It’s been a big issue. I think most guys are going 800+ miles between regens and a 7.5 gallon tank of def is going 5000+ miles.

There are a ton of folks though burning 7.5 gallons in 1-2K miles.

Mine got the update early and has been normal since.

My 19 l5p I only had to add after almost 6k miles before I got rid of it. Guessing I got lucky.
Ironically my 3.0 duramax had some recalls done yesterday and one of them had to do with the DEF useage. So far in 10k miles I’ve added twice with no towing yet. Others have not been so lucky and had high useage in the 3.0 too.

It’s just listed incorrectly. I saw some misprints when I was looking. The duramax is a 10 speed. The 6.6l gas is a 6 speed.

I don’t disagree but look at the pictures of the truck and the badge. The 10 spd badges as an Allison?

They DID not put a 6 speed Allison in a 2500 or 3500 series truck. Only 4500

“ That new Allison 10-speed isn’t actually made by the familiar Indianapolis-based engineering firm. It will be built in-house by General Motors and simply features Allison branding.”

“ The only way to get a true Allison-built transmission in your Silverado is to opt for the new Silverado 4500, 5500 and 6500 medium-duty trucks. These monsters will feature an Allison-designed and built six-speed automatic transmission. The new six-speed was developed in conjunction with GM and is designed specifically for use in the gargantuan medium duty Chevys.”

I’ve never owned a Ford in my life but couldn’t keep buying from gubment motors.

Bought a 2019 F-250 diesel last summer and I’ve yet to put DEF in it. Y’all MFer’s shoulda listened to DR Duck. BADASS Ford.....
