House finches, cardinals, painted and mockingbirds are still hanging out but a red bellied woodpecker decided to get a little "softer" meal.

That first one with the red head is a house finch? I've got a family of them in the back yard in the last few weeks. They're pestering the bluebirds that took up in the new house we put up.

The hummingbirds have flocked in thick and the painted buntings are on the feeders.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

and you need to come catch a bream with me....and feed them to the big bass. I've evolved in the last week as the big bream left the dock and the big bass moved in....

    Absolutely

And thanks R, the hat arrived.. I will try to do it justice.

Might get some hats for us done, my younger employees have talked about it.. but they'll probably want trucker hats or something. I might have some old coozies around, I dont use them.. I typically give away all of the shirts companies give me. I'm not walking around wearing a shirt with Traders on the front and ciroc or some silliness on the sleeve.

Been fun watching the birds. Still no painted buntings here at the new place.

Species giving regular visits: House finches, goldfinches (still, and beautiful), mockingbirds, wrens, bluebirds, summer tanagers, downy woodpeckers, red bellied woodpeckers, chickadees, titmice, ruby throated hummingbirds, grackles, brown thrashers... had either an indigo bunting or blue grosbeak out the other morning but missed the chance for a confirmatory look. The neighborhood pair of barred owls are frequent visitors to the yard.

My 4 year old son found out about mockingbirds the other day. I came home from shift and he said that mean bird tore his butt up. So he went and grabbed his toy gun and my GWP and said I'm going to get him! I couldn't help but laugh

With the GWP, he’s got a good chance of getting that bird.

There’s one at the office that mine has her eye on. Just waiting for that one mistake.

I have been waiting on that story myself. Which one of you did he take fishing and then found you in his hole?
