    Default Painted

Had 2 of these guys show up today to hang out with my cardinal, blue birds and house finches. Crazy the colors they have. Taken with the longest zoom I had and cropped down so not perfectly clear but I hope I will get some new glass soon enough to remedy that.

Super cool birds- my girlfriend down near Merritt Island Florida had two in her yard the other day, always a cool surprise!

    Thanks for sharing

Nice. I get them at my feeder. I saw a scarlet tanager and an indigo bunting the other day.

    They are peculiar little birds.

I see them crossing the yard as early as March most years, but don’t frequent the feeders til about June here.

When they decide to, they camp out on em daily.

You should’ve shot the house finches.

I remember the first time I saw one. I couldn’t believe how bright the colors were.

I've only seen one painted bunting up here in the mountains so far this year, I used to have a few at my house in the PeeDee when we lived there.

I've had an american goldfinch, dove, cardinals, robins, blue jays, carolina wren, painted bunting, and an indigo bunting (I'm pretty sure on that ID, not 100%). Some blackbirds and a crow as well.

We have a rose-breasted grosbeak using our feeder. First one I've ever seen here.

They are easy to lure in with a phone speaker playing their call. They'll fly in circles looking for the "bird" making the call.

I haven't had one here at the place yet. Hoping. They love millet.

The summer tanagers are daily visitors. And I still have little group of goldfinches in full plumage.

If you want painted Buntings add White Millet to your food mix.

We were covered in them in August.

They have thinned out to 1 male every 4-5 days now.

They love white millet, but the other birds seem to have no use for it.

I had one show up in Hartsville last week. I've only seen them closer to the coast. Pleasant surprise.
