    Default 2016 Jeep

Sunday the woman and I went for a drive. On the way home noticed check engine light, though everything seemed fine. Well code was p0219. Drove to work and back home. Now it is running rough and throwing code p0201 and p0301. Very frustrated. Anybody know where I should start?

    Found this online:
If you have a 4.0 I-6, carefully check the fuel injector wiring harness; follow it from the front of the valve cover to the rear of the engine....There is a cylinder head stud/bolt head at the very back of the engine (drivers side behind valve cover) this stud/bolt head rubs through the harness, short circuits the wires and causes all sorts of crazy misfires codes, and yes, I smelled gas also....It will take more than just a quick visual inspection....If the harness is resting upon this stud (or near it for that matter), if you don't allready have this problem eventually you will. I repaired the wire, wrapped the entire in harness in nylon loom, and put piece of vacuum hose over that stud...problems solved...

Thanks JBtflo. I have v6 not inline but found the information helpful I will check all the wiring in depth. I looked up codes as it 301 and 201 are misfires on this cylinder. It just crossed 60k and normally the plugs need to be replace around this point so I’m going to go ahead and replace all plugs and bought a coil pack for cylinder 1. So while I’m under the intake I’m going to check all the injector wiring while I’m under there. I will post back here what I find.

Take the coil off cyl 1 and change it to cyl 3 and see if your misfire goes to cyl 3, if it does then bad coil...if not then try the spark plug same way, if it then doesn't pull the valve cover and inspect how bad the lifter and rocker are and how bad it's chewed up the cam. The 3.6 had a bad valve seat issue up through 2014. Chrysler fixed that, but now the rocker and liftes seem to go bad. Engine will have a slight bump and customer pays it no attention. As time goes by it eats into the cam and then its too late.

I have a 2014 Charger here now thats ate the cam.... let me go get a pic.

Thanks for the info krt. So I changed all plugs today and changed coil pack on cylinder 1. Now the code I’m getting is p0201. Says this is an injection code for cylinder 1.

Swapped injector from cylinder 1 to cylinder 3. Now says p0203. About to go get new injector.
