    Default Chickens...

We are looking to reload our coop after the hawks and coyotes reduced our flock to 1.

Anyone have any adults you want to get rid of or know anyone who is looking to get rid of a few?

What brand of chicken do you prefer? I forget what the ones we got from Johnson were, but they did well until those owl fuckers figured it out.

Nothing too weird or exotic. The one we have left is black americana, I think?

The bulk of our now non existent flock were RI Reds and white leghorns. They cranked out the eggs.

Aretha gives us about 4 a week. Ol gal still doing work and has seen some stuff, man. She's been in the fray and lived to tell about it.

I have no use for the rooster but if he's part of the package I'll be glad to dispatch him with pride. Where you is and whatcha want for 'em?

I am making a tractor supply run for chicks today. We are going with Golden Comets and Ramblers.

One dark brahma, one barred rock, two rhode island reds, three other birds that we were told were aracaunas, but they don't look like it. My rooster is an aracauna that someone gave me. Fucker spurred me in the achilles heel last night.

JAB - the ones that lasted the longest and laid the most eggs were the Rhode Island Reds.
