Not in my garden. Mockingbirds. At night. Figured it out then built a mesh net enclosure. The next morning I had 3 mockingbirds. One had gotten inside the net and couldn’t get out. 2 were hung up on the outside. I made the one inside watch as I dealt with the 2 on the outside then I entered the net and dealt with the third.

They never came back to my tomato plants so I guess they got the message.

Mockingbirds can take a hint for sure. I like your thinking...

"Listen here, you stoopid little mockingbirds. Do you know who I am?!?"

Did the one inside sit there and make fun of you?

Rubberhead texted me the same thing just a minute ago.

I’m working on a guard now.

Until I complete it, the neighbor boy has a new pack of BBs and a green light to shoot to kill.

I've been using the Wild Birds Unlimited pole system for a while. It's expensive, but good. Squirrels don't get past their baffles if properly installed.

I saw that system a while back and loved it.

That looks beautiful. Now I actually want to make a bird feeder since I have a lot of spare time. Did you make them yourself? Or did you buy them?

I buy them - they don't last long especially when starlings and "English" sparrows start showing up... It's interesting you mention that, though, because bird feeder designs suck. Every one of them. I have, but I'm too lazy to do anything about it, often thought about designing the perfect bird feeder...I might get around to it one day...
