It's taken me a while to get bluebirds being regulars at the feeder but they will eat the pistachios and the occasional peanut out of the Nut-and-Berry, I think it's called, mix on the tube feeder on the left.

I have several species of warblers coming including the yellow-rumped on top of the tube feeder and they eat the suet. The peanut butter suet to the right of the wooden feeder is attracting a lot of usually non-feeder birds including the Thrasher in the picture and mockingbirds, robins and the bluebirds too.

Neat pic! I have been having good success with bluebirds coming to the Bark Butter Bits from Wild Birds Unlimited. They make a variety with dried mealworms in it that will get them started, then just use the plain. A ton of other birds eat em including the occasional summer tanager.

The last few days the ruby breasted grosbeaks have been fun to see. First time I've drawn them in.

FIFY - it's the time for them to come through and a big reason I have the camera set-up.

Thought that was some sort of woodpecker. Do you get those at the feeder often?

Yep - they're probably one of the most common SC woodpeckers at feeders - them and Downy woodpeckers.

My wife feeds live mealworms to the bluebirds at our feeders. She often has 8-12 at a time coming to eat.

You literally inspired me to pull up the Walmart iron post feeder stands I had, and I’ve spent the last 2 hours building a much more bird friendly feeder “tree” with multiple feeders filled with different blends and 2 suet cages.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
