Any of yall boys hunt around Willtown? Haven't hunted since the first split due to the fact that I'm down here in Sout America (aka South Florida). Coming home this weekend and wondering if anyone is seeing anything at all.

AND NO I'M NOT CYBER SCOUTING. That is why my subject says "Willtown Area".

yeah, i was down there this past weekend.
we did pretty good, but alot of boats.
there are few birds down there.
if u go dont pick up too early, the birds seem to be moving fairly well after 9:00am

Yeah when I was down there during the first split there were boats from the ramp all the way up to the turn back to the left! Thanks for the update.

I quit hunting that area for years. It became a struggle to enjoy the morning with the crowds that came around 1998 or so.

Last time I hunted there, earlier in the year, there were so many boats is was unreal. It was good to keep the birds moving, but they all fly so damn high down there and to make it worse tons of rubbaheads acting like idiots.

i agree the crowds are ridiculus, and that the rubberhead population is at records heights

I hunted down there a couple of times last year but leaving Sumter at 11pm just to get a decent spot isn't worth it and fighting that damn tide. We killed a few each trip though and always saw birds moving around.

Willtown is on the Edisto River. Just outside of Adam's run off of Hwy 162.

Dukmon. I'm with you. It is a gorgeous place to hunt.

I was told that it was packed up like a pay toilet at a laxative convention Friday morning. Saturday should be even worse.I think that it has always been crowded, it was in the eighties.

Hunt there a good bit just cause it's close to the house but it's not worth it. After you move 5 days in a row to find a spot that some birds are using and shoot your gun more than ten times, you will arrive the next morning at 3:30 to find someone that heard you shootin and their 9 buddies (six of them will show up at 6:30) have moved in to burn powder.

I'm headin back to Murray where all the green and sprigs are.

Yep, that would be an apt description of what goes on there.

there are plenty of ducks down there but I just hate fighting the boat landing. we sometimes put in at westbank and ride all the way down there just to avoid the landing
