Governor's Order made them cancel the early sessions. Phase 2 could allow them to open July as I understand. It sure is quiet around here...
All sports/academic camps at Clemson cancelled a couple of weeks ago. Boys are bummed with no Dabo camp.

My kids' sessions were cancelled. They were bummed. Ridgecrest and Crestridge are currently only doing the 3-4 week sessions. Hopefully swim team will be cancelled here shortly.

Summer camp officials in the Western North Carolina mountains are making “difficult” and “heartbreaking” decisions to cancel all or some of the 2020 summer season.
Many camp staff and loyal campers have become like family, spending each year growing bonds and having adventures in the mountain lakes and forests, ending the day around the campfire.
But the continuing spread of COVID-19, state guidelines for reopening and advice of health care officials have led many boards and directors to the decision that canceling is needed to keep those camp families safe.
Sandi Boyer, executive director of the North Carolina Youth Camp Association in Asheville, called Western North Carolina “the Silicon Valley of camps,” with more than 70 camps in Henderson, Buncombe and Transylvania counties alone.
Most camps begin around Memorial Day, with staff, including more than 2,500 counselors in the Henderson County area alone, arriving weeks earlier.
The loss of an entire summer could create financial hardships for many camps as well as impact surrounding communities that will lose revenue generated by families traveling to the region for camp.

Some, like Camps Mondamin (a boys camp in Tuxedo) and Green Cove (a girls camp in Zirconia), decided to cancel camps in June but wait to make a decision about July and August sessions.
Others have already made the decision to cancel their full slate of summer camps.
“It is a heartbreaking time at Green Cove & Mondamin,” a Facebook post announcing the cancellation of June camps reads. “We still have reason to hope that it will be possible for us to open Main Camp and August Camp. We are waiting on guidelines from the CDC and the American Camp Association to make a fully informed decision on how to proceed with the rest of the summer but that decision date will not come until June 3rd.”
Eagle’s Nest Camp and Hante Adventures in Pisgah Forest canceled all programs for the summer “due to safety concerns and current directives of civil and health officials related to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic,” according to a statement on its Facebook page.
“We are heartbroken to miss a summer of connection and community at Eagle’s Nest. While we are unable at this time to meet at Eagle’s Nest this summer, we know that camp is more than a place. Camp is a feeling, a community, a spirit of joy, connection, gratitude and so much more.”
The Camp Tekoa Board of Trustees in Hendersonville decided to suspend all scheduled camp sessions for the summer, but will offer alternate camps, including its first Family Camps.
The four-day, three-night Family Camps will allow family members to stay in a cabin as a unit and participate in activities such as ziplining, swimming, boating, a talent show and campfires, as well as meals together.
Camp Highlander in Mills River also won’t hold sessions this summer.
“It is devastating to think that your smiles won’t light up our mountain home, that your joy and laughter won’t echo across Old Forge, and that we won’t be gathering together to witness your unstoppable camp spirit and love for one another,” officials said Sunday morning in a Facebook post.
“However, as we face this COVID-19 challenge in the same way we face all challenges at camp - with courage, honesty, integrity, and faith - we know this is the best and most loving decision we could make, for all of us.”
The YMCA of Western North Carolina announced its decision to cancel all summer sessions on Friday.
“All of us had high hopes for this summer, as we planned to celebrate our fifth year. However, no one could have predicted the shocking changes brought on by the global coronavirus pandemic. It breaks my heart that we won’t be together around the campfire this year,” camp Executive Director Ryan Hove said in a message to families.
“Camp leadership did not make this decision without careful deliberation and soul-searching. We consulted health experts and considered every possible option for running camp in a way that would maintain government-mandated health and safety requirements while also giving children the best possible overnight camp experience.
“In the end, we were forced to conclude that it would not be possible to maintain adequate social distancing, exceptional program quality, and proper staffing levels.
Camp Watia’s staff have already been holding online “camp” sessions several days a week, offering virtual scavenger hunts, trivia nights and vespers, among other activities.
Staff at Camps Green Cove and Mondamin plan to stay in “virtual touch” during the summer via email, blogging and social media such as Instagram and Facebook.
“It cannot replace the magic of our in-person community, but we will do our best. We all look very much forward to 2021 when we will again be welcoming them here at camp,” a Facebook post reads.
