    Default Most Iconic "Sports" Moment(s)

...1) ever, and 2) that you've seen in person. I'll start:

    1) Tiger's chip at #15 in 2005. I'm not even a golf person, but that was the most amazing sports-related feat I've ever seen, for several reasons:

    -It's Sunday.

    -In Augusta.

    -DiMarco was comin'.

-Nantz and Verne said he'd be lucky to escape with a bogey.

-The pause before it dropped. Spielberg couldn't have made that up.

    2) 2012, UGA @ South Carolina. NOT the game itself, but rather SFC Scott Faile's surprise homecoming right before kickoff. I still watch the video on regular basis and get goosebumps every time.

    Discuss.

I see why you put "sports" in quotes. My 6 year old daughter knows that chip happened on #16.

Clemson's drive to beat Bama was cool

I saw the Punt Rooskie live and I'd say that was pretty iconic
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

I remember that shot clear as day. I wasn't a huge Tiger, at least not then, but knew he was special. My first thought was damn, my second thought was that's going to be a commercial. I still loathe Nike. Then and now

Christian Laettner's shot. That was cool, even though no piece of me cares about basketball. I was watching that game.

1986 at Augusta, the final round

    Larry Mize, his chip

Laettner shoulda been ejected earlier in that game for stepping on Jamal Mashburn's chest. Just sayin'.

2001 Daytona July race. Jr and Mikey hugging on the infield. It's not just the most
iconic sports moment in history, it's the most iconic moment in history.

Good choice. That last game was unbelievable, even with the weather delay.

As an honorable mention, Travis Pastrana's double backflip at the X Games was unbelievable. The expectation that he'd attempt it, not to mention the possibility of death if missed, is as impressive as anything I've seen.

if You’re going to mention golf, you should change the thread title to “Iconic game moments.”
If my kids knew what happened in a game of golf (or soccer) I’d feel like I failed them.

My mistake about the wrong hole.

And I put sports in quotes because the second event I mentioned wasn't a sport; rather, it happened at a sporting event.
