All South Carolina state lakes closing immediately to comply with governor's order
SCDNR posting closed signs on all properties.

    WYFF 4Updated: 7:42 PM EDT Mar 31, 2020
    COLUMBIA, S.C. —
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources’ State Lakes are closing immediately to comply with Gov. Henry McMaster’s Executive Order 2020-16 relating to COVID-19, the department announced Tuesday.

SCDNR’s State Lakes offer fishing access to the public in areas where public fishing is often not easily available.

    They include:

    Dargan's Pond Darlington

    Draper WMA York

    Jonesville Reservoir Union

    Lake Ashwood Lee

    Lake Cherokee Cherokee

    Lake Edgar Brown Barnwell

    Lake Edwin Johnson Spartanburg

    Lake George Warren Hampton

    Lake John D. Long Union

    Lake Oliphant Chester

    Lake Paul Wallace Marlboro

    Lake Thicketty Cherokee

    Lancaster Reservoir Lancaster

    Mountain Lake 1 & 2 Chester

    Star Fort Pond Greenwood

    Sunrise Lake Lancaster

Ross Self, SCDNR’s chief of freshwater fisheries, said the State Lakes will be closed for the duration of McMaster’s executive order.

SCDNR staff are currently in the process of posting closed signs on the properties, according to Self.

“We are sorry about this,” said Self. “We hope the situation moderates soon so that we can reopen these lakes for public fishing again.”

I got a house on Lake Keowee last year at an auction to be used this coming week (Spring Break). I don't see it on the list above and still plan to go. Is anything changing up there? Thanks in advance.

If Louthers doesn't already give you an infection you don't have to worry about any lesser virus so no reason to put it on the list.

Yeah, fished there once about 20 years ago. I thought it was "controlled" by the dnr.
