    Default 95 wrangler troubleshoot

Screwing around with the Jeep today and now I have an issue.

Ran some errands and it ran fine ....then left it running while I pressure washed something at the house.

I hear it start to sputter / starve for gas.....eventually it cuts out.

Now it won’t turn all the way over. What could that be?

Oil is good / battery is good / plugs and wires are seen tight / plenty of fresh fuel.....I thought starter selenoid but the what it sputtered and cut out?????

4cyl or 6? Did you try to flash a code? What does your coolant look like(level and color)? Oil color?

I'd check coolant then pull each plug. You can flash codes, my 95 XJ is a series of turning the key on-off three times then the CEL will flash a sequence if it has a code.

I assume when you say it wont turn over as in the motor wont spin. But the starter is pushing it? Trying not to be an alarmist but if thats the case Im thinking cracked head or blown gasket...cyl.filled with coolant. Luckily the 95 has a good casting, 00-01 were known for cracked heads. Thats why I say check coolant and plugs.

By “it won’t turn all the way over”, do you mean it won’t crank or the starter is unable to make the engine produce a complete revolution?
