    Default Monday 3/23

Some of y’all know but a little over 2 years ago, my wife and I were in a situation that we were able to walk away from. I thank the Lord everyday for being able to walk away. The situation took the urge to hunt out of me. I kinda took a break from everything except work, family, and friends. Those who know me, know I used to be in the woods every day whether it be hunting, scouting, or on the tractor. I ended up killing a few deer at the end of the year but didn’t enjoy it nor did I really wanna go. I didn’t turkey hunt at all last year. Between work and the want to just wasn’t there. I spent whatever free time I had with my wife, my son, and a few close friends. I still shot the rifle a good bit. Deer season started getting close and I ended up in a club that is small and close knit. Managed to scratch out a few deer and started feeling to urge to hunt again. A few close friends helped me get back at it and on my feet hunting again. Some on here, some not. Those who have helped me have no idea how appreciative I am of that. Fast forward to this turkey season. The fire got lit again and the urge has never been this strong. I hunted Sunday with a few close calls and a jake that thought he was a man. Worked Monday and slipped out early Monday afternoon. Walked roughly a mile and half before striking this bird up at 330. 405 he was dead at 20 steps. Once again, thanks to those on here who have helped me get back in the woods doing what I love. Sorry for the long winded post.

Man I don’t know what your situation was, but I’m just glad that things are returning to normal for you and you’re able to start enjoying the things you once did. Congrats on the bird!!

After my Mom died I felt the same as you did. It took some time but I found myself again. Congratulations.

I don't know your story, but I'm glad your back and enjoying hunting again. You never have to apologize for a long-winded post as long as I'm alive and posting on here. I'm the king of long winded! Congrats on a great bird.
