    Default Rossi Tuffy Turkey .410

Bought my son the Rossi Tuffy Turkey and a Crossfire red dot last week. Cleaned and polished the barrel yesterday.

Decided to pattern today because the weather was going to cooperate.

I’m not disappointed, in fact I may tote it when he’s not. Federal 3” TSS #9, 40 yards.

That’s a nice pattern. What’d you polish the bbl with?

I've used the tutorial from Old Gobbler several times and have experienced good results with every gun. Some have reported no improvement or worse patterns. YMMV.

When in doubt, shoot him again!

Work like it's all up to me, but pray, like it's all up to him!

Nice. I definitely think its a cool little gun, especially for <$300 with the Vortex OTD.

I made a bone-head mistake. When I mounted the red dot I cleaned every screw and thread before using loctite, except the base.

Got home after patterning the other day and noticed the mistake, so I removed everything and repeated the mounting process including the base.

Took the opportunity to bring a few more guns for my son and I to shoot. Got the Tuffy back and ended up shooting a better pattern. I’d say the average count between the 2 days would be in the mid to upper 140’s.

Colt wanted to shoot a “super shell” so I let him take a shot with the TSS at the shoot-n-see target. The wind was blowing so it wasn’t as tight but had plenty of margin of error if he or the bird moved.

Apex and handloads are far superior to Federal in the .410’s. IMG_7944.jpg
These are Apex 9.5’s at 40 out of my Stevens
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

I'm not handloading and I can get the Federal down the street so Federal it is for now. Nice pattern.

Just curious whether you looked at the Stevens 301 when you went with the Rossi.

I did not compare the two before purchasing the Rossi. I read a lot about the Stevens but the price point of the Rossi was the factor for me, and it was somewhat of an impulse purchase. It was in stock locally for $154.99 so I went ahead and picked it up. I also liked the idea that the stock for the Rossi had a spacer to reduce the LOP since the main purpose is for my son. I didn't see that the Stevens had that capability.
