Default SC State Parks closed till at least June

SC state parks closing through April, officials say
    Lasts through April 30

    WYFF 4Updated: 12:51 PM EDT Mar 27, 2020
All state parks in South Carolina will close beginning Saturday, park officials announced on Friday.

In a news release, park officials say, "the closure is designed to keep visitors and employees as safe as possible by mitigating the spread of the coronavirus."

Officials say visitors who are currently using campsites and cabins can remain there for the rest of their reservation, as long as they practice recommended social distancing.

If you have a reservation between March 28 and April 30, it will be canceled and you will receive a refund, the release states.

Earlier this month, state parks canceled all large-group gathering reservations and suspended all programming and special events through the end of March. Those closures now last through the end of April.

Does this mean we can’t go fishing at Jocassee, etc?

I'm guessing Devil's Fork will be closed but not the lake itself.

I just canceled our big annual Demo Day for kayaks at Dreher Island.

I'm sure glad that I live on the river with private access. Looks like I'll quarantine myself to my kayak when I get home! Been 45 days at sea without a port call so far! Looking forward to getting home soon and being quarantined somewhere that's a little more relaxing!
Living in Moncks Corner but looking forward to moving back to the West Coast in 2020 where there are more ducks and less duck hunters!! LOL

So, is the state prepared to send me a prorated refund on my annual pass or are they going to extend it for three additional months at no charge?

Damn, that's bull crap. They can put up a sign telling everyone they are on their own in the event of an emergency, but closing the landings is beyond justifiable in my book.
