All state parks in South Carolina will close beginning Saturday, park officials announced on Friday.
In a news release, park officials say, "the closure is designed to keep visitors and employees as safe as possible by mitigating the spread of the coronavirus."
Officials say visitors who are currently using campsites and cabins can remain there for the rest of their reservation, as long as they practice recommended social distancing.
If you have a reservation between March 28 and April 30, it will be canceled and you will receive a refund, the release states.
Earlier this month, state parks canceled all large-group gathering reservations and suspended all programming and special events through the end of March. Those closures now last through the end of April.
