    Default Wild Turkey Q&A

Mike Chamberlin and Brett Collier in conjunction with LSU did a pretty cool Q&A Facebook live. Here’s the link, a lot of useful and eye opening information in it.

This was really good. I definitely was under the impression a hen would breed with the next best thing around her. Also the analogy of killing 1 dims the light bulb but killing 3 may put it out will not be forgotten.

This is what I got out of it. So in your mind is there any reason to (I hate to use this fucking term) cull gobblers? Try and not harvest older birds?

The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

In an area having recruitment issues, yes I think there could be great benefit to NOT harvesting a dom. bird IF you can determine which one it is.
But, like Bret said, the dominant /breeder isn't always the strutter and one must understand a gobbler group shows off for the better good of the community/flock even though only one out of the group is breeding!
    This is amazing information.....
