    Default Through Hull Transducers

Since I have downsized vessels to a kayak, I still wanted something with some sort of electronics. The guy I bought it from already installed a trough hull transducer. Compared to one mounted to the transom, how much less “accurate” are there in regards to making fish and structure?

You can't tell the difference on the screen. Transom mounts will eventually break Through the hull is the way to go.

Is it mounted through a hole in the hull or is it glued/epoxied to floor of yak and shooting signal thru the yak floor?
Either way is better than transom mounted. I bought my kids some high dollar Hobie kayaks for fishing in the marsh.
The kind with the "mirage" pedal drive. They friggin love them and its great exercise, though we have boats too, they
now seem to prefer fishing from the Hobies Outbacks. They are stealth as heck too and move along fast with the foot drive, fast enough to troll.
Oh and they launch them from anywhere.

    Well fucking said
Seeing these soulless vanilla ice lookin Yankees on a bassboat is worse than watching a woman get her implants taken out. It's just wrong. Get back in your Lund and go back to infisherman.

What kayak did you get? As long as you make sure there are no bubbles, glued thru Hull is good. If you go over a shoal and the hull flexes that will be the end to your fishfinder day until you reseal it. You will also not have an accurate temperature. If it doesn’t have a built in transducer mount I like to use the YakAttak switchback. It mounts to the side and has an arm that will position it in the water and you can pull it up out of the way when you need to.
Let us know the kayak. I have probably mounted transducers on it before.

Low range elite 3. It has side imaging but I’m assuming that’s not gonna work through the hull
