    Default C-virus related oddities

Aside from schools being out it seemed like business as usual for the most part today and I didn’t notice anything odd. Until I stopped in at a gun store coming back into town this afternoon. Hunters Headquarters in town was booming with people at the gun counter and it wasn’t their typical “good ol’ boy” customer base.

Anyone else notice a similar situation in other places?

Yep. I didn't go in, but City Arsenal was pretty busy at 5:30ish this afternoon.

Didn’t you throw an extra gun in the truck today?

Not business as usual for me, corona killed my work for the time being.

Went into town once today to pick my daughter up, hardly any cars on the road. Wife works at Walmart, she said it’s a madhouse still.

I drink about 2 cases of water a week. I stopped at an ingles this evening on the way home and found several pallets. I asked a store attendant if there was a limit and she said no. I got 3. No big deal I thought. As I waited in line a voice rings out from behind me in line. "Are you really getting 3 cases of water?" I turn to see this little sorry excuse of a man wearing goggles, a face mask and latex gloves holding 2 packs of toilet paper. I simply smiled and nodded my head. Said a prayer for him when I got in my truck. God give folks that that peace.

Phones stayed busy as usual but very few people came in to the office today. Not many people out eating in town at lunch today either. I gotta admit I did pull the truck AR out from under the seat and checked the 200 yard zero yesterday.

If you thought toilet paper was scarce try and find a case of 9mm or 223/5.56. I’ve watched 2 tractor trailer loads of each vanish in four days.

It's sure easy to see the people that are "not" prepared. They are the ones freaking out and trying to buy up ammo......

Just curious as to consensus on what "prepared" means from an ammo standpoint. 1000 rounds each for three different calibers? 10,000 rounds of one caliber? Is there a consensus?

For the extra gun in the truck crowd. You think looting etc will occur soon?

I think it might be a hard time to be a crook. There aren't many people about so the cops are looking for something to do. Most people will be home and more likely to notice anyone roaming around their neighborhoods too.

Traffic is a little less and no waiting in any of the restaurants I frequent which I don't mind . Never occurred to me to carry an extra gun, not even sure what that's about.

My extra gun in the truck yesterday simply came as a result of me not wanting to take the time to open the safe yesterday morning and put the gun back in.
    It was a rimfire handgun

you are so out of it. you didnt get the memo on needing ammo?

I totally agree and this is what will cause the downfall of our great nation. IN MY OPINION, people on this web site OWE IT to the nation NOT to respond in this manner. No different than seeing lots of bottled water and think you need to get your share. in times like this, you might want to consider buying an igloo cooler and filling it from a hose. Believe it or not, that is the better choice.

Yes, the little decisions yall make effect the masses. Make decisions for the greater good.
