They won’t go out of battery if it gets jammed up against your attacker, no safety to worry about, no limp wristing malfunctions. For a lot of people who carry, not just women, it’s the best option. Get a trigger job done by a reputable gunsmith and train with reduced recoil loads.
What he said, I can tear an 8 inch paper plate all to hell with a .38 snub at a pretty fair distance
and I damn sure don't want to get shot with one. Why you shooting a self defense situation more than
say from one end of your house to the other or from a parking space to 30 feet or so?
Not saying there would never be a cause but....

A good friend of mine in LE told me “ if Jesus carried a pistol it would be a Glock”

I would think it would be a CZ 75 or Desert Eagle in .357.

What Nate said (I think I remember its Nate but I’m getting old) above. With that I would suggest the new Colt Python 2020.Recoil would be better shooting 38 loads and when she decides it doesn’t match her purse or shoes you could get a helluva deal on it.

    Glass half full fella’s.

Col Robert Coates , USMC about the 1911. " The 1911 was the design given us by God through J.M.Browning and still represents the epitome of what a killing tool should be. It was true in 1911 and is still true now".

For the folks that are worried about racking a slide- teach them to use the push method- anybody can do it.
