Default Fully Fund the Land Water Conservation Fund...

Last fall the LWCF was permanently reauthorized in sweeping bi-partisan fashion.

Now it is time to fully fund it. And once again the bill has huge bi-partisan support and the president has said he will sign it as soon as it hits his desk.

Take 30 seconds and contact your reps and let them know this is important to you. Link provided below...

Won't that make the national debt go up?

We get a portion for outdoor recreation,it is for a good cause. You can see that tax money instead of it disappearing.

No. LWCF is funded by offshore oil and gas leases. Does not come from the budget.

This is a common misconception about the LWCF. It isn't tax money. It's money from oil and gas leases private companies pay for drilling on federal lands and water.

Shouldn’t the oil and gas money go to infrastructure as opposed to wildlife welfare?

Surely you realize that energy companies pass those costs right along to the consumers. At least "we" get something out of the deal...

Yes. I would much rather, if it has to be collected at all, see it spent on new refineries, pipeline, and deregulation...
