    Default Low tide Creek

I'll put some more life in here.

With the boat being finished up I recently went over to a walk in creek.

I arrived on low tide and picked at a few fish laying up in the isolated pocket on a bend but none wanted to eat. I knew that as soon as the tide rose just over the oyster bar there would be a flush of newly freed fish. Well like clockwork the tide came up and all of a sudden there was fish after fish coming by me. This was a stretch of creek about 5 yards wide and I would just pick them up watching the pushes coming down to me in about 1-2ft of water. I had about 25-30 fish come by me.

They really are a ball of fun to pitch flies to.

May be the push i needed to tie up some clousers.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

I've caught more winter spottail on a small black clouser than many other flies combined.

Black/purple is my go to this time of year. I tie flies with rabbit strips and marabou as they tend to have better action as you are almost drifting them when the water is cool.

Also good choice. I used to do the same, basic crab/toad with a weed guard normally. Caught a lot of fish with them, but a black clouser would get bites on days nothing else would sometimes.

Example of some of the flies I use in winter tied in black/purple.
