    Bungee cord .

    Hay baling twine.

    Twizzlers tied together.

Can't just stick a couple swivel sling thingys in stock/forearm and use an adjustable leather scrap?

Get one that has a loop on each end- slides over the stock and over the barrel then cinches down. It will block your sighting- easy to remove and put in your pocket.

Well I'm sure I could if I want to look like some common shmo who shops at wal-mart and wears real tree camo.

I want something that makes me look like Bwana on safari.

    Somewhere between Camdenshire and Pelzer.

Bwana on safari= leather shoe lace with a loop knot on each end- or flat braid it from paracord

Get yourself some thick hemp rope and drag it behind the truck and through the mud for awhile... then attach old leather loops at the ends to run through holes you drill (with a hand awl) in the forearm and butt of the rifle.

But would that make me look like I was trying to look like Bwana or actually look like Bwaha?

I'm trying to avoid that "Noooo, I been wearing bottomland my whole life!" while the tags are still on my jacket look.

Understated is the way to go. Khaki canvas, if not leather with absolutely no markings.

Put one of these on knucks muzzleloader this year and it works pretty good. Can get a pic if you need a look at it installed.

If you really want a 'Bwana' look, you can't buy a store-bought kit of suede. I think you need something like an khaki duffle bag that you can cut the pieces from, and then hand stitch where needed to really look 'backwoods'.

Envision leather tips to the sling, with a double/triple layer of 'Army duffle' canvas, or old cream-colored canvas if you can find it, side-stitched with gut string.

Cheap and you probably shouldn't try to drag a deer with it but non marring and simple, what we were looking for. Suede as well.
