My opinion, if you aren’t driving it a lot, the diesel isn’t worth it. I’ve driven a diesel since ‘98, I’m seriously considering getting a new 7.3l once there’s more real world data on them. Gas is a lot cheaper than diesel, maintenance is cheaper and if you do have an issue it’s probably not going to cost you $3-4K or more to get fixed. You don’t need 900-1000lbft of torque to move a load.
We took my truck to Duke last week, round trip I got 16.2mpg. Diesel prices were $2.49-$2.99/gal, gas was $2.09-$2.29/gal. Factor in the premium cost on the engine, maintenance etc. and it takes a lot of miles if ever to break even. I love the power but practicality it just doesn’t make sense anymore.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
You might take out a dozen before they drag you from your home and skull fuck you to death. Marsh Chicken 6/21/2013
