That’s awesome. Lot of time and hard work by both of you.

Good stuff and great fun. Congrats.

You and Jake are cordially invited to my back yard in Forest Acres. I’ll supply ammo, snacks, lemonade, “beggin’ strips”, whatever y’all would like / need. My neighbor across the street who is a decorated veteran of the Battle of the Bulge was seen last Thursday standing on his porch in a pile of smoking brass yelling “broken arrow”! We haven’t seen or heard from him since.

That’s an awesome accomplishment. I’ve never kept count on a dog for a career. I’ve done it in a dogs first season. BJ

Congrats on the milestone! I hope you let Jake eat that 1000th squirrel.

Duck Cutter, Do you eat the squirrels you kill or give them away? What's your favorite way to cook them?

Considering the number of squirrels you kill, you could find Jake's favorite and supplement his diet with squirrel meat too.

I eat some, give some away and sometimes one from the hunt finds its way into the dog box with Jake for the ride home.

With churches doing wild game suppers this time of year it helps make it easy to give them away, and I know several people who will take them just about any time I call them.

My favorite way to cook them is fried, but more times than not I end up putting them in a stew. It’s easy to make, can be frozen and saved for later.
