I ordered tags for my son and I last week. Got license in mail but no tags on paper?

It’s going to make it real difficult to help new folks learn the sport with these date specific tags. Before you could still participate in the hunt and choose not to shoot if you still had a tag. I don’t like this latest bit of dumbassery from DNR and the assholes in Edgefield. They should have learned from the damn date specific doe tags.

Unfortunately I think you’re wrong. I imagine it’s at the officers discretion.

Not to argue but I had just that conversation today with a DNR LEO who was reviewing the turkey regs as we spoke. I know what I am going to do this season. Good luck and have a safe spring.

This is what I have been told for years as well. I don’t know why it would be any different now.

I do as well. Kill turkeys or watch them die as I’ve done for years.

It says in the rule book what you guys are debating. Calling for others is allowed once all tags are gone as long as you have your tag form that they came on.

I emailed DNR in Columbia and was told you can guide/call in first 10 days after you have tagged your one bird. Must have tags in possession and no gun. Makes sense but wanted to be 100%.

Have any of you lifetime license holders received your tags?

Mine came in the mail yesterday. Why do they feel the need to make it complicated. I'm fine with three tags, but don't tell me when I can and can't use them.

Yes but you have to order them online or over the phone if you have a lifetime license.

To prevent over harvest during the critical, early breeding period.

We have had club members ticketed for leaving their tags in the truck while hunting.
I got my tags in the mail and didn't even pay for them.

I’m jealous if they sent you two sets of tags.

Did they tell you when you could kill them back in the day when turkeys were scarce? Just curious.
