If I wanted to buy just one for say .243 through .308, what’s the best one to get?

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Let's schedule a day and I'll meet you to shoot. I like the Silencerco Omega direct thread but any product from one of the major manufacturers (DeadAir, Silencerco, Q products, etc.) will serve your needs.

Really depends on budget
I have a 30 cal from rugged and palmetto state defense.
I like both of them
Omega has my vote. It comes with a QD brake and direct thread attachment.
I'm a big fan of Thunder Beast Arms Ultra suppressors for bolt guns and no-mag-dump AR work.

Anyone running any of the surefire suppressors?

Our SRT runs the Surefire suppressors. I can stand next to them on the line with no hearing protection (11˝ inch barrels). Like about any suppressor on a short barrel AR, the blowback and carbon buildup is a problem. I would prefer something else for a bolt gun. But the Surefire stuff is rugged.

I have an AAC threaded mount and Surefire Socom QD. Both very well made and serve their purpose well. The quick disconnect function on the Surefire seems solid. The carbon build up is no joke with any of them.
Salty, I have an Omega that I use for .223 to .308. If you want to shoot it before you buy and don't mind the drive to Dorchester, let me know and we'll schedule a plinking session.
I have a thunderbeast ultra 7 and a silencerco harvester. Both work well for my needs. Like others have said, really depends on your budget.
My advice is buy the nicest one you can the first time.
The SilencerCo harvester is really nice. Will work up to 300 win mag and it has interchangeable backs. It made a 308 with a 20" barrel sound about as loud as a 22lr
I have an Innovative Arms Deception Exo direct thread. It stays on my 12.5” 6.8 upper and does a good job.
I have Griffin GP7 waiting approval. Direct thread version of their Reece 7.
Silencershop has the process streamlined and highly recommend the single shot trust. Can download their app, fill in all the required information, take passport photo via app, and do fingerprints at kiosk. They review and mail next day.

Suppressors are rated in several areas. Max caliber, caliber per barrel length and full auto rated. Depending on what they are made of and their construction, some are not rated for full auto fire. I have a harvester that is not rated for full auto. You can dump a mag, but it is hot. I would not do it more that once. So, in a hunting application, you are good to go. I shot 18, full strength 308 rounds, in a semi fast, aimed, steady pace and it was pretty hot. It was not red or damaging hot, but you would not want to put it in your pocket.
Dead Air ...Sandman
NannySlayer, got it. Thanks for the clarification. Since I haven’t yet jumped into the suppressor market I wasn’t thinking of it in those terms.
