    Default SE Wildlife Expo

What is worth driving to Charleston on Sunday with the family to see?

You can watch the dock dogs, browse around through all the vendor booths, run some duck calls/turkey calls from a bunch of different call makers. The sheep herding demo is pretty cool to watch too if you've never seen that done before. All of this is at brittlebank park.

Is it much different than the Sportsmans Classic at fairgrounds in Columbia?

The Sportsman's Classic caters to Drake jackets, while SEWE focuses on Barbours.

SEWE is worth taking the family to, but if you've seen it once, it won't be much different. You'll find interesting vendors and demonstrations, but you'll have a time navigating the crowds of carpetbaggers that have an insincere interest in southeastern wildlife.

Did not realize that was this weekend. Will be in town for baseball. I reckon traffic will be 10 times worse then....

It's a good time, but definitely see where some of the above comments are coming from. We aren't going this year and but in the past have enjoyed:

    - food tent at Marion Square - all kinds of local vendors and some decent giveaways
    - Birds of Prey exhibit and demonstration at Marion Square - if you have kids, they'll let you sit inside the ring and get a great view of the demonstration
    - other cool stuff at Marion Square - DU tent/serpentarium/all kinds of products/art (same thing at Brittlebank)
    - dock dogs at Brittlebank are fun to watch and you can pay to let your mutt give it a try too
    - petting zoo at Brittlebank for kids

There's a ton of other stuff too. Not a bad way to kill an afternoon.

We enjoy the entire atmosphere of SEWE. Yes, there are some folks wandering around that don't participate in the outdoor lifestyle, but I always find some things of value to look at and even purchase.

Go and spend a nice day in Charleston. Look at the positives.

Once, yes. Twice, if nothing better to do.
