mine just got a shave yesterday, guy dog though.. Nice looking dog R
We got our first Boykin in 1977, I was in 1st grade.
He lived til my senior year in 89.
They were not yet recognized as a registered breed, he weighed approx 50# and was quite the dog!
I remember having to carry his ass home once cause he locked up from all the cockulburs!
Miss he and his son....Haven't had the urge for once since, their legacy would have been hard to follow.

I had a few as a kid, dad had some, bred a couple litters. That was around when they were about to be recognized, my mother was actually one of the first secretaries of the society. We had a lab right in the middle of them, after my own first Boykin (Wateree) passed my father got another lab around 89 from Bruce.. I remember the year because I was chasing that little pup around during Hugo. We took him outside with us when the eye passed over. My Boykin now is the first one I've had since a kid, he's showing a little age now.
he doesnt have nuts
and is really good at retrieving a dove or a frisbee.
a duck? not as much....

He’s jealous because his little black dog has a curly tail and exhibits some cur dog traits

Good looking dogs. This was my first season with my second Boykin. He definitely likes picking geese up in the flooded field a lot better than in the beaver swamps. Few things we are going to work on this off-season, but all in all, I'm proud of the little guy.

So, let me know when the litter is due. I've been wanting a Boykin for some time now.
