Default Nash Buckingham - Dixie Land Duck Hunting

This is the audio reading of Nash's story where Horace the boat handler/guide, at the behest of The Judge, tells the story of a liquor bet he made with Mr. Money. That would be Harold Money who was famous for his ability with the Winchester M1897 a pump gun. Harold Money moved from England to NYC and worked for Abercrombie & Fitch and also shot for the A&F Squad. His M97 went to Nash after his death. Money also gave Nash the Parker he shot after he lost "Bo Whoop" (A.H. Fox HE) in 1948.

"Now shall I prove how hunters live in this world more joyfully than any other men. For when the hunter riseth in the morning and he sees a sweet and fair morn and clear weather and bright; and he heareth the song of the small birds the which song so sweetly with great melody and full of love each in his own language in the best wise that he can, according that he learneth of his own kind. And, when the sun is risen, he shall see fresh dew upon the small twigs and grasses, and the sun, by his virtue shall make them shine. And that is great joy and liking to the hunter's heart." - Nash Buckingham

Shit you not, I just found out that the private property my buddy owns and of which I have been hunting for years is the same Swan Lake that Nash hunted. I have been walking by the original club house site for years without knowing. I had asked before but the owners son which I hunt with didn't know. Finally asked his father when he came to hunt with us and he laid the whole story out for me. It was pretty daggum cool to find that out. My buddies grandfather was the care taker at Wapanoca for many years and knew Nash well.

If you listen close you pick up some things we can't do no more. Besides the no plugs, when Horace tells about that first drake coming over he says, "Our old hen bird she hollers at him." That was back when they used call birds.
