Default Patio / outdoor heater advice

I'm building an outdoor grilling/hangout shelter and I'm trying to figure how a way to provide heat. I'm not really interested in the propane heaters that stand on the ground...I'm more looking at the fixed heaters that are attached to or suspended from the ceiling. I can run power/gas to the heater.

Does anyone have any suggestions on brands to look at? Pros and cons to electric vs gas?

    Another option. https://www.northerntool.com/shop/to..._425107_425107
Note, I don't not have one but in theory it should work for you. Also they have other sizes depending on the area you want to heat.

I installed one of those northern tool models on an outdoor kitchen, I don’t remember which one but it had a thermostat and we ran nat gas to it. As far as I know they haven’t had any issues.

Radiant heater like one of the ones linked above will be your best bet. Also, look at having some "curtains" made to help stop the wind. Like they have in outdoor seating areas at restaurants. We have them on our screen porch (has a fireplace) and we put them up in the winter. I installed sliding tracks (think medical curtain tracks) and made the curtains out of the clear vinyl and sunbrella.

I personally don't but we had them in the Sea Pro plant in Newberry when we built it back in 1996. They were still operating when it was shut down in 2008. Went to a Christmas party in a friend's shop the other month and he had them. Was nice and toasty in there. Just make sure to clean the dust off the top of the shield every now and then. Will smoke and smell if not.
