    Default What kind of grass?

I had a strip through the middle of my dove field that serves as my rifle range. It's a bit over 300 yards long and about 12 feet wide. This year I decided to disc it and run the cultivator over it to smooth it out. What king of low maintenance grass should I replant on it? I was thinking Timothy, Coastal Bermuda, or some other sort of hay. Certainly not Bahia. I want slow growing so I have to mow it less but able to endure ATV and occasional truck traffic. What would be the lowest maintenance grass to plant?

I want something like pasture grass, not putting green. I'm going to be bush hogging infrequently, not finish mowing. Another requirement is a grass that won't spread or seed badly outside of its designated lane. I also want something I can plant by seed, not lay down sod (i.e. cheap) It will be in full sun and irrigation is not an option.
