    Default Duck boat upgrades?

Ok guys when the season is over my boat is getting stripped and redone. I’m working on the plan now and want to have a good plan before I start. This project will be new floors, all new lights and wires, new paint and maybe more.

On the electrical side of things other than nav lights and bilge pump what are something’s that you have that you like?
I’ve thought about interior lights but not sure if worth it? I have a light bar but don’t think I will be putting it back on as I never use it and it just makes it harder to see.

Also any other suggestions that you guys have let me know.
The trailer will also be getting a complete rebuild?

I have the interior lights and never use them. Never really even thought about using them. For whatever that's worth.

Yea seems like a novelty item to me. But I’ve never had them and they could be great for all I knew. Thanks for the input.

interior light (led strips under the gunnel) help me fish at night. I like them, so they may help you set out decoys in the dark without stepping all over stuff. easy to install and cheap I have mine set up with a remote.

I like the interior lights myself and do yourself a favor and go with LED light on the trailer

You will have a chance to put plenty of input soon as I’m going to have you paint it up for me.

In a duck/utility boat I want minimal electronics. Just the essentials wired cleanly and correctly.
Everything extra is one more thing to maintain/break.

For the trailer put some quality hubs/tires on it and agreed with the above on using LED lights.

Interior and exterior LED strip lights are good for fishing and putting out decoys. Neither or good for using under power (may not be legal either). I like clean, simple, and snag free on the interior. The less wires and things to get decoy bags, fishing rods, cast nets, etc. hung up on, the better. Add hatches if feasible to keep clutter off your decks and benches. Wire things accessibly and the right way so you don't have to redo them every year.

My next boat will not have a stereo for the said cleanliness/excess wires issue. Too many good portable BT option for when I want some music.
Go with very oversize billage pump BTW. When you really need it, you will want it to pump a lot of water in a short period of time.

The following is all I have done for my 1548 with 25hp tiller.

ALUMINUM floor, sides clad all the way up to the gunnels if it didn't come with it. Bow storage. Removable bow mount trolling motor. Depth finder on a RAM mount so you can swing it based on if you're reading from the front or back. Seat sockets front/middle/3 across the back. I have a custom 11gal gas tank for max fuel but no taller than the back seat. Low profile blind mounts. Do everything in aluminum that you can and leave the wood out of it all. CMC tilt/trim. Gotta think long term.

It's taken years to get it like I want it but I enjoy the boat for the tool that it is.
I don't need my name in the marquee lights....

No thanks. I have owned this boat for 20 years and have fished out of it maybe 5 times.

    Huge bilge
clean wiring with tight wire management (use marine wiring)
get flip down rear nav (the ones go devil puts on stock)
    shark eye bow nav lights
the led strips fall off after 2 years so if you decide to put interior lights on try something you can mount to the seat and shines down in the floors
If you’re going to go back with light bar get a housing to enclose all but the front of it this is very effective.
Buy a good switch panel that is fused.
Millennium seats are the only boat seats I’m spending a dime on from here on out.
I prefer the slide track seat mounts for the bench seats
Have you about ran out of gas in the past? Consider custom fuel tank that you could stow in the bow if possible.

Some of this crap can get expensive, so spend money now to keep from having to do this again. With the duck hunting market today the sky is the limit for duck boat accessories, don’t over do it.
