It's hard to attend a meeting that has already happened.

Put together a budget to get rid of tamies and an increase in better habitat for the public lakes.

You posted 6.5 hours late. Did you miss a meeting you were the chair?

Phillip - if possible to make mention of aquatic vegetation on Cat 2 WMAs.

    Please do so.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Every one that possibly can needs to attend this meeting. I urge you all to PLEASE share the word and to attend if at all possible.

Simply put we must demand better management and this is your time as a hunter, license buyer and tax paying citizen to express your concerns and wishes as to the state of affairs surrounding CAT 1 management.

Thank you for your attention to this matter Phillip.

Won't be able to make it but if I could I would request a study on shell limits on Cat 2.

Just a cliff notes version of the meeting for those interested.

I would say it was a success.

Phillip cut no slack, required serious answers, took note of hunter disappointment and harvest numbers. In ending he made it crystal clear to SCDNR that things must improve on our CAT 1s.

I greatly appreciate all who attended and spoke.

A solid tip of the hat to Phillip for even taking the time to bring this to light.

Jab, you are right. DNR does not deserve any more land. The cost compared to the kill ratio simply cannot be defended.

Thanks to the fearsome foursome who came and testified. We talked for 4 hours.

    Awesome! Glad to hear it!

What harvest level would make it cost appropriate and is it even possible? Can any large managed coastal wetlands public or private justify the cost?

Is that why the Santee Gun Club gave up?

That is a fair question. I never tell my wife how much ducks cost.

    Samworth 900 acres when fixed.

6 hunters averaging 1 per hunt.

    Need 9 million to fix.

Duck, Wasn't the 9 for all the Cat 1s combined as to maintenance, repair, staffing, equip etc?

I believe a 4 bird average would be an honest goal while providing cushion average to level the complete non shooting, non experienced vs the shooters and experienced.
