I’m my experience, which is based on a half dozen trips over the last five years, the best brisket comes from hill country between Austin and San Antonio. Sadly I have no recommendation for Dallas.

Incidentally, Lewis’ in Charleston is as good as any I’ve had in Texas.

Rudy’s is the first place I go when I go to my home office in San Antonio.

Their San Antonio locations were the first time I ever ate at one of their locations.
They will ship a whole cooked brisket to you also, if order from their website

Try the TX whiskey. Pretty good stuff.
