    Default Rock hill eats?

Daughter has started club volleyball. I think half the tournaments are at the new rock hill sports & event center. Need places to eat besides cracker barrel. Tried the white horse at the complex and it was disgusting sysco crap. What do you know of in that area that is good?

    Thanks in advance.

There's a great sushi joint off of Exit 8 in NC...if you like sushi...

Meat and three...Mary's Cafe...www.maryscafeonline.com...1349 Fire Tower Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730

    Beer, wings and pizza...Empire Pizza...

Sunday Brunch Buffet - the Fish Market in Fort Mill - $15 gets you a lot of good food and some really good she-crab soup but it's only served on Sunday between 10 and 2...

    Need more?

If you get a block of time that you can get away for a bit, take the ride to York and try the Hoof and Barrel. I was impressed.

Otherwise, Empire Pizza is a junk food go to for us.

La Chirandas still has the best cheesesteak burrito I've ever had.

    The brewery is good too.

People rave over Captain Steve's for seafood but I've never been. It's up in Fort Mill but not very far.

I thought you were strange, that confirms it.

You don't like the White Horse? That's my favorite place in Rock Hill. I haven't had anything there I didn't like. The waitresses are friendly, the place is clean. Reasonably priced too.

For a reason, it keeps the tire kickers eating $1.00 hotdogs from the Walmart vestibule and scourging the sporting goods section.

If you need or want high end gear, a gun, etc. talk to Darren or the staff of serious. If tire kicking only will usually they can weed you out.

Most of the restaurants have been covered. As the pit owner said, Charandas is decent Mexican, most of the Mexican places there decent to good. The Freddy the owner of Charandas owns a sports bar/ restaurant on the opposite end of Charandas called Hartlands. Good bar food for bar food, the steam oysters are the best in area considering. A fun crowd from time to time.

My daughter played with Intense a couple of years, so will killed time at Hartlands the first year while she practiced, then next year I went to Planet Fitness and I lifted at Primal Iron.

Most chain restaurants in RH suck more than normal. The economy is strong and workforce weak, prepare for slow bad service most places.

If traveling back South head down Hwy 21 once and hit Wagon Wheel in Ft Lawn and get a small order of fired squash. Imo, the best cook to order place around.

For a little more higher end experience for the area the Pump House is okay.

Rock hill is about the only big city where I've yet to eat anywhere good

I'd take an extra 20 mins and go to the wagon wheel in fort lawn. You may see me and big timber eating fried squash there on his dime after our basketball game
