    Default Sure Cycle Systems

Are the Sure Cycle systems really worth the money if you're not hunting in salt water or firing thousands of rounds per year?

In this instance I'm considering picking one up (unused in package) for a virtually new M1 12 gauge even though I rarely use the gun (for now), although if I reduce my shotgun collection the M1 will most likely become a primary piece.

Not really, C. If you maintain your action spring properly (clean and oil annually at a minimum) and don't hunt in downpours every weekend, in my experience you'll be fine without a Sure Cycle.

I put one in a Browning Gold. Cured all problems after about 2 boxes of breaking the spring in. Gun since sold. And as I recall, it was suggested to use heavier loads with it.
It's not enough to simply tolerate the 2nd Amendment as an antiquated inconvenience. Caring for the 2nd Amendment means fighting to restore long lost rights.

No. Sure Cycle came about because the first recoil springs they put in the M1's were not stainless steel. That was rectified about 20 years ago...

This. Plus I stand my guns up on there barrel not the stock between hunts. This keeps oil, moisture and dirt from running into the recoil spring tube and gumming it up

the correct answer is NO because you're a cheap bastard....even though I see you are getting a "deal" on the NIB sure cycle.

My nicer guns don't go out in downpours. That's for the 870. And, yes, they are all fairly well taken care of...

Good info. I haven't had this gun apart yet since it's currently in mint condition, waiting on me to some day make the change from the BGH's, so thanks for that info.

An asshat as usual, but that's OK. I wouldn't recognize you any other way.

And, no, not 'cheap', I just don't throw my $'s around, but you go ahead.

    Thanks.

Sure cycle makes a stainless magazine spring. I would definitely get one of those. I've had the factory springs rust and crumble in 2 guns. Ain't nothing cool about loading your gun right before shooting light and feel not pressure from the magizine spring. You got yourself a single shot for the morning.

2th, I forgot to ask, just for clarification for myself and any others interested...

Would you really spend $160+ for a new Sure Cycle stock tube and spring instead of $100 JUST so that you didn't feel "cheap"???

    Just askin'...

Probably not since I doubt you have any real 'jokes' in your bones... you only 'think' you do.
