    Default Beretta A400

All I know is that I want one, buying used.
Is one significantly better than the others?
I am sure I could Google the differences but I had rather ask you shotgun poets.
    The A400 Extreme
    The A400 Extreme Plus
    The A400 Unico

What is your intended purpose? Upland, waterfowl, clays

I'm not poet but was looking at this last month when I purchased a few guns from my neighbor which included a A400 Unico. I think the nuts and bolts of it are the Extreme Plus is built on the Unico system but has a raised rib, longer forcing cone (which reduces recoil) and a larger charging handle. There's more to it but that's the gist of it I think.

Functionally, all the same. Do you like raised rib, wood stock, etc.

Xplor with Kick-off is tough to beat. Wood stock, traditional looks, minimal recoil. It is a 3 shot gun only. If you want a 5 shot gun you will need to go Unico, Xtreme or Extreme plus.

My opinion and I just sold a A400 extreme plus, would be to buy a regular A400 extreme and send it to rob Roberts. He can do everything the plus has but just a better job. Just my 2 cents.

Talk to me about what Roberts does to a gun?

Look under services. He does a much better job than I can at explaining everything he does.

The differences mentioned above in the extreme and extreme plus he can do. All except the difference in ribs. The lengthened forcing cone, larger bolt cocking handle, and slammer button he can do.

A buddy of mine just bought a A400 extreme plus In bottomland it’s a sweet shooting gun. If my xtrema2 was tired of killing stuff I’d buy one just like the one he bought.

I bought an Extreme Plus this year with a 30 inch barrel. Absolutely no regrets. I prefer the raised rib. It will cycle everything down to a light 1 ounce load.

This ain't used, but it looks like a good price, especially for a new one.

I get the charging handle if your guy that wears gloves.. maybe even a button, but that forcing cone mess is just a way to spend money.

I'd buy wood. Simply because I have taste.

I've never owned a Beretta that I felt like I needed to have any work done to it to make it shoot well. I've had the forcing cone lengthened in two guns in my life, both M2's, both patterns improved noticeably.

My old Xtrema threw excellent patterns with just about every load I shot through it, and so does every Beretta I have with the Optima HP choke system. I haven't shot my new Plus at a patterning board yet, but I shot a round of clays yesterday with it with a new Briley Helix Hunter mid range choke and it turned them into absolute powder when I did my part.......
