...but this one has me scratching my head a little. I wrote it down as a mottled duck but I can see things that look like a black, a mallard and a mottled duck in this bird. Maybe a Blottard Duck? I did Photoshop out a hole in his head but it was behind and just under his eye so not in the area where streaking helps with ID.

The white leading edge of the speculum is usually associated with mallards.
The orange-y coloring in the breast and scapular feathers is mottled as is the black in the gape of the bill and buff at the edge of the bill.
The streaking and dark, unlined shoulder, is usually only found on an adult black drake.

I'm in the wing survey so I'm really curious about what USFWS says with this one...
