A couple cans of cooked chicken, cut the smoked sausage up, chicken broth, cup of white rice, pack of yellow rice with saffron, salt, pepper, hot sauce. Thrown together and cooked in less than 30 minutes. Kids love it and really easy cook and clean up.
I'm with ya. Half the time that I make it, I use a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. Simplifies the process greatly and tastes just as good in about 45 minutes total.

Some of y’all sound like Yankees that think y’all have improved on a southern tradition that didn’t need improving.

Next to the canned Thanksgiving dinner.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Only Labhumper thinks that making a Bog is some mystical, magical dish.

It's rice and meat. The Vietnamese make a similar dish with rat meat or other protein. I doubt that they wax poetic about it.

    MKW hit the nail square.
