Default Best Deep Fryer: As in kitchen counter model?

I have been thinking about buying one and am open to suggestions. I figure several of the chefs on here have experience with a couple. All this discussion about fried oysters and such has spurred my interest.

Go, and your Aunt Bessie’s Fry Daddy is an automatic DQ.

My wife got a Farber fryer a while back. It’s ok. I prefer the cast Dutch oven when I fry fish and such. Cleaning is so much easier.

I have a commercial single basket fryer by Winco. It may be a little more than you want, but it's a great fryer.

I have rebuilt hundreds of houses from fires and the amount caused from kitchen fryer appliances is ridiculous. I like to fry food and it’s done outside of my house every time. Not to mention the grease smell last to long for my taste.

I set my fryer on the cooktop and use the exhaust hood. It's plumbed to the outside and is a 1200 CFM fan. It does a pretty good job keeping smells out.

I have a Waring Pro that has been great. Holds a gallon, has a thermocouple for setting temp and timer.

    ETA: I use it outside.

I have a cast iron skillet and I deal with the smell.

But the Breville's are a good choice.

I have a Waring Pro also, all stainless. Bought it a few years ago at Williams Sonoma and use it all the time.
