Default 12/14 Bonneau Ferry Youth Hunt

Wood ducks were thick. Good number of teal both GWT and BWT. Only saw a few ringnecks, but were told they were thick at other blinds. Saw a few Mallards.

Tried to get these two to be patient and wait on the woodducks, but telling two 14 years old to be patient ain’t happening. Limited out on woodducks by 7am. (All Drakes). Did have 3 winged/crippled teal that I never found after a 30 minute walk about after each one. Considered those as part of the bag limit and left at 10am with 9 birds.

    6-Woody’s
    1-GWT
    1-BWT
    1-Mallard

BTW-These boys hate taking pictures. And I took a dip this morning, fortunately water is not that cold and we was walking out to get picked up.

That’s cool. Better watch the one on the left. He’s got that Cheshire Cat look.

Good job. How many did the eagles pick up?

Fortunately we didn’t have any eagles at our blind. But a buddy and his son was at another blind and said the eagle did pick up one of theirs.

Thanks for the kind words, the kids had a blast and we all were impressed with Bonneau Ferry.

Tom Harkins and his crew do a phenomenal job at Bonneau Ferry! I look forward to the TOMO hunt every year just to see spend time down there! It is amazing place for the kids that come too!

Glad y'all had a great hunt!

Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.

Awesome stuff. And good on you for not letting them paint their faces like so many of the younger generation does now.

Good killins. Can't wait till my girl gets settled in a little better with a scatter gun, to where she can participate in these youth hunts.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!
