If anyone is looking Filson, be sure to fill out the popup that comes up when you go to their website. They will send you a 10% off code within 10 or 15 minutes...

I think anything made by Filson. I have a waterfolwer coat, chaps, and a dove belt that are all 15 plus years old and have held up betther than any hunting related stuff I own. Almost every time I wear them someone wants to know where I got them and who made them.

Other than that I would think a good knife or maybe a nice wood duck call would work.

I second this. I have one that is branded / embossed (whatever the correct term) with my last name. I doubt you can get one by Christmas time though as he gets backed up.

Which Filson Strap vest are yall referring to? There's a basic one and a fancy one. Everything I have by Filson is solid and I love. My buddy has a similar vest made by Orvis that has held up well and he wears it all the time

I like the Filson vest with the webbing.. my old one was basically all tin cloth, it was hot as balls. I have a belt also that sees a lot of use. I bought the blades pattern in the new water fowl coat.. bottomland is too trendy.

I've had a Filson Strap Vest for about 6 or 7 years now, my original one was stolen in September and I had it replaced by October. I would do the same with my Filson Shell Belt as well. If they do any wingshooting, it's hard to go wrong with either of those.

If they're a duck hunter, a custom duck call by any call maker worth their salt would be good. I've had an Otis Leather lanyard for about 5 years now and I'd replace that if something happened to it.

Everything I mentioned above will be, or has already been, bought for my son at some point in time.

I have the one with the vented back. Both are well made but I can see where the original tin cloth could be hot on the back as HS said.

I try to put the utmost thought into any gifts I give to anyone, but contraceptive surgery could be perceived in way too many different forms.

If anyone is into custom knives, check out speh custom knives on fb.
I’ve watched his stuffed a while a finally ordered one for myself today. He’s not a local guy so unfortunately you can’t touch and feel before purchasing but I had messaged him several times about different things with his knives and always got a very prompt and courteous reply. He’s been running some Christmas sales and I saw one I wanted. I’ll report back on the quality when it comes in
