Following! I’ve got a scrambler I’d love to repower! What diesel you thinking? Rough estimate on that swap?

I’d do a 5.9 Cummins in a Jeep. I don’t know a price but could figure it out.

    It’s currently got a 4.2 I6, an Atlas II transfer case and a 5 speed. Dana 20 & 30 stock axles.

We fully out grown that facility in 6 years, everyone has seen it. We have been very blessed and if you treat people right it comes full circle. I still get the “they are high” over there but you get what you pay for. We went from Tommy and I to 11 employees and this custom stuff is taking off. I’m doing some at my shop at my house. We don’t have the room nor time to push vehicles in and out or having parts laying around. That main shop rocks and rolls all day.

So yes we’ve cleared, some grading for more parking. I’m going to add two more lifts in a stand alone shop. Lifts were ordered Thursday. Like Quinn said, I’m not sure my pad is going to be big enough.

Getting it set up so all the new owner has to do is slide in and sit down.

    I hear ya KRT!

Looking forward to these threads. My first ride was a 1976 CJ5 with the Levi’s package. It was badass and unstoppable! Go anywhere! I’ll have another one day and it’s coming to you!

    Can’t wait.

One thing I’ve learned is the Jeep craze has never went away. Them people love them.

The C10, square body Chevrolet’s, and 88-98 old body style Chevy trucks are getting that way now as well.

Kevin, I'd be interested in knowing how this shakes out...have been wanting to either rebuild this tired 360 in mine or do a GM swap. Hadn't thought about the LS swap as option. Is it exponentially more expensive than a carb'd 350/383? I was thinking I wanted to stay simple with a one wire harness to a carb'd 5.7 and Mallory ignition, but I have been intrigued by the LS swaps/builds you have been doing

    There's absolutely nothing better about a 5 over a 7.

    Nothing.

Had 2 CJ7's growing up. Soft top 82 Laredo and later an 84 Renegade with a hard top. Damn I loved those things! Brings back a lot of good memories.

The CJ and it’s original 4.2 in line 6 cyl

My “vision” of the completed engine bay.

Got a great jump on it this weekend. The next phase will be tear down the donor engine, install a cam, and freshen her up. Then pull the 4.2 out the CJ, dress up the engine compartment, and start the replacement. It will take some time but I’ll post as it comes along.
