    The firmware/software/auger /pellet ramp seem to have made a big difference. No failures since.

    Still feel like a dope for being the Guinea Pig, but if I could be assured of getting a redesigned one from the get go, Id be ok with it.

    I'll keep updating.

    Few more firmware and software updates later...

    Seems to be dialed in much much better. Latest update added a smoke boost feature. It allows you to basically cold smoke for as long as you want at 115 before you put the heat on it. Also, the upper end of the temp scale when searing something is way past 650. My thermometer topped out at 850.

    I have been following the updates. People seem happy now. They have a big 4th of July sale going. $200 off

    It's still a little buggy when switching over from smokeboost to regular cook mode. It doesn't make the transition real quickly or smoothly.

    Still much better than day one, though.
